Hannah Grace Minji Lim is a Seattle native and a junior at Wellesley College, majoring in Media Arts and Sciences, an interdisciplinary program that combines computer science and studio art. Her academic journey revolves around exploring the intersections of media, technology, and design. No matter how ridged the architecture, she seeks a woven connection between humans and our technology. Her story is an overlock between creative mediums and human-computer interaction, with particular interests in graphic, product, and fashion design. Hannah is a middle child, a coffee enthusiast, and a Leo (if you were curious)— though she’s not quite convinced by zodiac signs.

A mosaic is defined by the arrangement of its smaller parts. At MoSAIC, short for the Museum of Science, Art, Innovation, and Curiosity, we invite visitors of all ages, identities, and backgrounds to explore the many paths of human creativity and possibility, encouraging them to question, imagine, and discover.

The Brief
Create a new visual branding for the Experimentarium, a science and technology museum in Copenhagen.
Along with branding the overall museum, we designed for the Experimentarium’s new upcoming exhibition, Future Human: How Far Will You Go? This exhibition introduces the growing influence of new technologies in our everday lives that bring new possibilities, but also raise ethical considerations that prompt visitors to be curious but cautionary.
A New Name
The name MoSAIC is an acronym for the Museum of Science, Art, Innovation, and Curiosity. Like a mosaic of many different pieces collaging together as one, MoSAIC emphasizes and celebrates the diversity of its visitors and the educational experiences provided throughout the meseum’s exhibtions.
Creating A Visual System
The bold logo and modular grid system form the foundation of the brand. The grid is playful yet precise— flexible enough to adapt across formats while always pointing back to the mosaic: distinct pieces coming together as one.
Going Future Human
The Future Human exhibition explores the boundaries of imagination and human potential through science and technology. The pixel graphic symbolizes growth—expanding from the structured grid into a more abstract, technology-inspired form. Gradients add dimensionality, while the presence of children engaging with the exhibition evokes a sense of wonder, inviting the audience to share in their curiosity.
Typography
A bold sans-serif typeface establishes MoSAIC’s sleek identity, while we mix in an abstract, playful typeface that enhances the boundary-pushing imaginative spirit of the Future Human exhibit.
Colors
Like a mosaic collage, our branding embraces an open color palette. We emphasize pairings of playful hues that are slightly muted to maintain a sleek, contemporary feel. In contrast, Future Human features bolder, more saturated colors that reflect the exhibit’s boundary-pushing, imaginative spirit.
